We are located at 110 Clearway Street, Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia, Canada.

From which schools did we arrive?

Both the Blockhouse (P-6) Bulldogs and Mahone Bay (P-9) Hawks merged to form the new Bayview Bobcats. We moved into the new structure in September 2000.

How was the "school name" chosen?

A contest was run asking students from the former Blockhouse and Mahone Bay schools to submit a name. An explanation had to accompany the name explaining their choice. The committee reviewed the entries and made the selection. Our new school would be called "Bayview Community School".

How was the "school logo" chosen?

Students from the former Blockhouse and Mahone Bay schools were asked to submit a logo/nickname for Bayview Community School. They had to explain their choice and provide a drawing. A committee of students narrowed down the selection to five possible choices. Students from both schools were asked to vote for one of the five. Our new school logo would be the "Bobcats".

How were the "school colors" chosen?

A committee of students researched possible school color combinations. They put together a selection of five possibilities. Students from both schools were asked to vote for one of the five choices. Our new school colors would be "navy/white/silver".

How many students attend the school?

Approximately 430 students attend Bayview Community School from Grade Primary to Grade Nine.
