First day for BCS families

Hello parents, guardians and community,

As the new principal at BCS, I would like to welcome you and remind you that tomorrow is the first day of the 2018-2019 school year. The staff have been meeting the last two days to make sure that everything is ready for all students. Our custodians have been preparing the school and once again, it looks amazing.

Parents play a critical role in the education of their children. A parent’s involvement in a child’s leaning and development is a key factor in how well a child succeeds in school. One of the areas that parents can support their child is promoting the importance of being in school right from grade primary. Chronic absences can hinder a child’s leaning, and parents and schools can work together to support a child’s overall success in school.

What are things you can do if your child doesn’t want to go to school?

Embedded CLT Days

Your child’s health, well-being and learning are very important. Our goal is that students receive the best possible education in an environment that is welcoming, fair and supportive, and where everyone has high expectations and works together for the good of all.

The most important factor for student learning and well-being is the quality of teaching. To improve teaching quality, teachers need ongoing professional learning.
